Strike Markings

Wildcards is House Vardamir's strike squadron, and is commanded by 6.  Any strike ship flown by an HV wing member is automatically part of this squadron.

Artist's Notes: the Wildcards' patch is based on the squadron patch of the Space: Above and Beyond Wildcards, with elements changed to be in tune with the BSG universe - namely the font, the cut corners, the Triad cards, and the Viper silhouette. I added the House Vardamir logo (also my artwork) to make it clear the link between the squadron and the wing.

Below are the individualized marking / paint schemes of the Wildcards ships - more and more will be added as their respective pilots submit their marking / paint schemes.  Click on the ship image to see a larger sized pic.

HVS Salvation, No.6's Advanced Viper Mark II, and Nose Art detail

HVS Victorious, No.6's Advanced Viper Mark VII, and Nose Art detail

Artist's Notes: this is actually the second modified Viper, with Chanth's ship being the first, but since 6 is the Squadron Commander, he gets to have his ship shown first.  He asked for tiger stripes but on a blue base rather than an orange base.  It may not be too obvious with the pic, but the nose is also black.  The nose art is an action pic of Blair Williams (played by Moon Bloodgood) from the movie Terminator Salvation.

For the Viper Mk.7, 6 asked for an urban camouflage with a blue base - unfortunately I went to much on the blurring of the pattern.  Unlike the Mk.2s, I went for an "action" shot for his ship.  Because the nose of the Mk.7 is rather slim, I placed the nose art on top instead of on the side.  Barely seen is the ship's name on the side of the nose - I originally did it in white, but decided to stay consistent with a black ship name.  The nose art is a tongue-in-cheek homage to the time when 6 was renamed by the Devs to iloveponies4545 - the image is an American Indian war pony.

HVS Tandy Bowen, Chanth's Advanced Viper Mark II, and Nose Art detail

Artist's Notes: Chanth asked me to modify a pic of her ship to make it more unique.  She wanted an altered Syfy paint scheme that could be used as a pattern for the rest of her ships.  She also requested that the gun cannons be black, instead of grey.  Nose art is a colored version of an originally b/w sketch of Tandy Bowen (aka Dagger) drawn by Adam Hughes (check out his awesomesauce Deviant Art page!).

HVS Libertax, Lion Garcia's Advanced Viper Mark II, and "Nose" Art detail

Artist's Notes: Lion had a long list of how he wanted the elements (logos, shipname, etc.) done for his ship - the request of using the Flying Tigers' color scheme and their famous shark mouth design was done, but the rest were ignored since Lion isn't a paying client (sorry dude, but when the art is free, I have the final say). With the shark mouth taking a big chunk of the nose, the ship name and the nose art had to be moved. The white lion was Galen's idea, and I was initially going to use Kimba, but decided in the end to use a picture instead of an artwork.
